12 Hour Burger Challenge: Thailand
We were tasked to create a campaign that will promote a burger that celebrates each nation's uniqueness. My group chose Thailand and we thought of a pad thai burger which is one of Thailand’s national dishes. I was in charge of creating the print ad and landing page.

Rationale and Process: I had to consider many elements in order to keep the ad consistent with existing Thai ads so that it is recognisable to viewers. My group took photos of the burger, Thai milk tea and peanut sauce. The theme of the ad was the Thai floating market and I tried to incorporate the colour scheme of greens and browns which are the colours that most commonly appeared there. The food served there was unique as the locals used banana leaves to serve or display the food on the boat. So I wanted to include the use of banana leaves below the food on a wooden platform which can represent the boat or the stores and in the background, a blurred image that does not take attention away from the burger. This particular font was chosen as I liked how it looks similar in terms of the vibe and the way the Thai language is written so I wanted my headline to reflect that. I wanted to keep the print ad and landing page consistent so that there is a connection between the two.
This assignment has allowed me to learn how to be sensitive to the aesthetic and theme of how to properly portray an ad that is recognisable to viewers. Having visual references and a mood board helps in getting started as it can act as a guide that could lead me in the right direction.
