We were tasked to create a copywriting poster of any chosen brand that caters to youths. In this case, I decided to choose Vintagewknd as they are a well-known brand among youths. This is due to the current trend of vintage aesthetics, thrifting, and the affordability of their clothes.

Drafts:

Rationale: I wanted to take some inspiration from the brand logo in terms of the vibe and tone of the brand, hence using similar colours from their logo. Including slangs that Gen Zs know helps the copywriting to be more relatable to them. Some facts about the environment also helped the poster be more credible and have an impactful impression on the target audience. The chosen font had a vintage, 90’s vibe which I thought was suitable for the brand’s image.  

 

Process: The brand is about vintage second-hand clothing which is currently trending and they have a huge audience which makes them highly recognizable. Using a copywriting template helped me in crafting the text as I have never done it before. Trying to come up with drafts for was a struggle as I had to keep revising the body copies after each consultation. Since this was the first time, it took a long journey of research and many drafts to finally come up with one that is able to convey the brand’s message to relate to the targeted tribe. Forming the layout was also challenging as I could not decide which was the best hence, creating several versions and asking my friends for their opinion. I think that being able to force myself to think and ideate more helped me to push myself forward to come to a point where I am satisfied. This assignment enabled me to learn how to craft impactful copywriting to fit the brand’s image and identity.

I was not satisfied yet so I made a few more minor adjustments to the body copy of the text and finally came up with an end result.
